@fesshole In France, stores are not allowed to throw out perfectly good food anymore. They have to give it to food banks. It's the law.

It's a good suggestion though. :)
We used to have another one, Throw No More I think it was? Which would list all discounted goods due to expiring sell-by-dates/use-by-dates from various shops, but unfortunately that's not available anymore as several other grocery stores have implemented similiar functionality into their own individual apps... so now you have to check several apps instead of a single one. :( Again, not free though.

I love it, it means I'll try things I wouldn't otherwise buy and I spend less doing it.
I don't think I've often gone on to buy the products at full price, but I do have a freezer full of organic meat.

@severtz same here. They are usually the first shelves I browse through. Though some shops are better at it than others. Yesterday I saw bags of mixed lettuce at the local Coop Extra that were so soggy and discoloured that I can't imagine anyone buying them...

What I watch then is the discount. 10% off is not worth it, especially if the "meal deal" price is lower.

@severtz Norway. Usually it's 40%-50%, though some go up to 70% (though then the expiration date usually has passed several days).

Most fesshole posters are in UK, and in the suburbs of a provincial town during the evenings and weekends there are few cops around and those who are on duty are occupied with stuff like DUI, domestic violence and other real crimes and don't have the resources to go chasing someone raiding bins who will likely be long gone by the time the patrol vehicle even gets there..

I've also seen it used as a pretext to raid and clear out encampments.

Il lunghissimo articolo in questione, per esempio, ha il dono di essere estremamente plausibile e di apparire convincente, eppure non presenta adeguati elementi che ne dimostrino la correttezza.
Tutto ciò ci ricorda che l'indipendenza tra l'attendibilità di un testo e la sua plausibilità non è certo un fenomeno distorsivo nato con gli LLM 😅

@eniko and - I know this may sound weird - but this also plays a part in how I perceive and present my masculinity. There's a social expectation that someone like me should really own a big, expensive car simply because I'm a dude and that would somehow be an affirmation of my gender... and I'm so much like fuck that bullshit, I don't want any part of it.
