Friends of the #Fediverse - I need some information about good apps for iOS. On Android, my favourite is #Moshidon but I also like #Tusky or #Pachli or #Fedilab etc.
On iOS, I remember I was using (back in 2022/early 2023) #Icecubes and #Tusker - which looks nice but I canโt find the quote post option.
Can you please help me and suggest something?

@stefano At least Ice Cubes has the quote option, behind the same button that boosts. You get to choose which you use.

@stefano it's not free but Toot! Is really good. That's what I used on my iPhone and it's a fun and quirky UI.

@clf yes, I forgot about Toot! Isnโt it free? I remember you could support the devs but it wasnโt required to work.
Iโll try it again. Something I also would like to see is the notification count in the lower bar. That would help. -

I switched from Ice Cubes to Ivory, a few months ago. And I am happy with it.I am logged into 5 accounts, and working with them is easy. I can like and boost posts from any account, no matter which one I have currently open.

No, there is no count. Just a dot that shows there is *something* new. -

What I like about it is the custom notification sound and all the fun little UX tricks like swipe from the bottom right corner to switch network.

@operand However, they experience those problems in a *completely different way*, which not only is their userbase unprepared for, but the pre-existing experience of fediverse users does not exactly prepare for!

@mcc I guess you could simultaneously see this as a success and a failure for ATproto: decentralization is possible... but you immediately get a lot of the same problems ActivityPub has that ATProto ostensibly solved.

This is whyโalthough, now Blacksky is letting me "see through" Bluesky's worst moderation decisions, I'm glad, because Bluesky's moderation is weird and arbitraryโI think it's a downside of the network, and Mastodon made the right decision not offering this feature. Fediverse defederation forces a degree of soft group consensus on moderation: it's possible to say "if you're talking to X, I don't want to talk to *you*". On Bluesky we are all ghosts walking through walls and this can't be enforced

Oh, and let's consider, for a moment, the downsides of an individual user being able to "opt out" of moderation decisions. The problem with misbehavior on social media is force multipliers. One person harassing you is no problem; one person and their 3000 friends is a big problem. Imagine Bluesky and Blacksky ban user X but Trumpsky lets X keep posting. Now their 3000 friendsโ still in Bluesky's good gracesโ can see their posts calling to harass you, AND can zero-friction zip over to yell at you
