How long do you take to finish a San Francisco burrito?
-
@evan yum! I still miss Mission burritos.
Which taqueria is your favorite? I'm a fan of Pancho Villa and its smaller sibling El Toro two blocks away, if they're still there. Relleno burrito and shrimp fajita burrito were my faves.

@jamesmarshall Cancun!

@evan when I lived in SF I would eat half the burrito and save the other half until later. I have a pretty big appetite too.
@potterybyosa this is a common pattern!

@evan Do you remember the name of the place that was right by the 24th and Mission BART station? Was it just called Mission Burrito? It was a local chain, and I remember there was at least one more along Mission. I haven’t lived there since 2005.

@evan TIL what these beasts are called.
-
@evan Also I answered half hour or less but that's not really true because I only eat half. If my wife wants one we share. Otherwise I throw the other half away :(

@gwcoffey how is that "finishing" it?
-
Fooled me there, I had to look it up.
A SF Burrito is a standard size burrito in Chicago. Nothing special here. -

@evan Right you are! This was a confession that I didn’t think through my answer very well before commiting to it.

@evan
10 or 15 minutes. I voted.full disclosure,
8-10" long, 2.75" diameter,
wrapped in wax sheet, inside tin foil.Must include lettuce/tomato, refried beans, anato rice, carnitas from end to end, with optional guac and sour cream and salsa red or green and hot sauce of choice.
By carnitas, mean cow, pig, or chicken, shreaded.
The best part is the last inch, where the tallow of the meat mixes with the flour to make it Yummy. .

Thanks to everyone who responded. There is a cult belief that burritos are better after refrigeration. I don't think this is true, and I usually finish my burrito in one sitting. It's interesting to see that I'm not alone in that. Thanks!

@evan I do sometimes get a second burrito for breakfast, and yeah it's pretty good.

@potterybyosa good question! That name sounds correct.
