@Nomad13 the Canadian spirit at its best. Quality and reliability. I loved them. I had some "Pin messenger" friends (and more). They did one thing, but did it well. And IMs apps were nice, too.

@stefano I worked with another developer who was previously at RIM (and the HQ was just down from the office we worked at). Canada had a chance to be a dominant smartphone maker 😛

@stefano I still miss my Blackberry. I have had several models starting with their very first one which was a pager and my favourite was the Bold. It was the best and safest mobile I ever owned. It was a complete mini computer. Well ahead of its time. And Canadian!

I'm watching "BlackBerry". I like this movie, as I loved those devices. I had a Pearl, a Curve and a Bold. I sold the Pearl and the bold but I still have the Curve, as it's been my favourite one.
While I didn't love the centralization of the services (and the fact that their servers knew my IMAP password), those were solid and reliable devices.
While technology has advanced, I think we lost much of their convenience. Battery life, for example, is totally incomparable.
