Looked up the author's other work. Sounds like he's full of it.

Consider, for example, Hillary Clinton’s dismissal of Trump supporters as a “basket of deplorables” whose irrationality, discontent, and anger did not merit engagement, or her criticism of Bernie Sanders as a deluded populist for believing otherwise.

Hillary was 100% correct!

Yeah, they cut the chase. The coup already happened. The super rich are currently consolidating their power; a mop up operation really.

I would have to say much the same has also happened to the UK. The US in the UK have traveled down the same conservative pathway.

Europe has not wholly escaped it either.

None of them are free from a colonialist past.
