yes - I was lucky to detect foul play and happened to be careful.I found that software would've run that loaded and executed other software. From what I could see the setup in the end was one where my machine would've executed whatever the attackers wanted with user privileges.
I'm not 100% sure what the endgame would've been. Could've gone for ransomware, information stealing, botnets you name it.

@AAMfP Ach man, that’s horrible, I thought I was in the same position a couple of times but in each case I somehow just glitched out… any chance you have access to the game on a different system? Sometimes the locations and geometries of things seem a little different. Or can you put down a new save beacon beyond the obstruction where you can still access it?

@evan Years ago I was flying from CNF to GIG with a conference mate and CNF is a horrible airport in the middle of nowhere. My mate was the type of person who likes to arrive at the last minute and swore everything would be fine. It wasn’t, we missed the flight and had to wait for the next one, for like 5h - it would be impractical to go back to the city, etc.
This is to say: now I always make a point of arriving 3h early no matter what.
