i have not bought new clothes since 2017. been sewing veeeeeeeery slowly a whole new wardrobe, especially after getting a partial mastectomy because #fuckCancer.
to hell with #EspsteinClass fashion capitalists. am making my own clothes down to my bras and panties. now my clothes fit me and my body.
i believe #bodyDismorphia exploded as capitalists paid to have sewing classes eliminated from public schools. the Les Wexners of the world can’t have girls with body autonomy, dressing themselves.

@blogdiva #myamericangirlfriend suffered her entire life, not matching the norm of fashion industry. so sewing became her rebellion against a toxic system with multiple benefits: better quality, she got useful features in wardrobe that every man is taking for granted (phone pockets ie), the experience of natural fabric.

@DieWespe the ease and reinforced seams. even the shittiest Old Navy slacks are better made than any fast fashion. so i’ve kept well made mass market pieces that fit me as points of reference ―for the seam finishes, under/lining―, for my own versions.

@blogdiva She invested quite some time in her slopers. With that she became able to modify standard burda-patterns, using linnen instead of cotton. And it worked out wonderfully.
