Windows is really dogshit for remote work, in a lot of ways. One I'm noticing a bit is that if you ever restart for updates, the post-update login spinning wheel of doing god knows what for 2 minutes causes basically everything (RDP, etc) to time out before connecting. This means you tend to need to login in-person the first time after an update. (To say nothing of whether it actually reboots at all)

imagine if Bob Ross's "The Joy of Painting" got an 8k HDR 60hz AAA PBR remake. finally, we'd be able to experience mount mckinley the way it was meant to be experienced

Watched 28 Years Later. Entertained and occasionally startled and/or grossed out, but not sure how I feel about it.
I know we're suspending disbelief, but there are things that just don't gel with the rules established in the first film. I'm kind of a stickler for internal consistency. The first film remains the only great, or even really good, one in the series, I think.

@DKesserich it requires neither excuse or apology. wine is one of the very few long game projects in the Linux ecosystem that I actually have any faith in ever being perfect some day despite the fact that I have been using it for 20+ years

@DKesserich i feel a 1-in-10 chance of a game not working at all is representative of my experience playing random games with proton, as is the greater-than-50% chance of a game working perfectly on the first try. wine has come a very long ways in the 20+ years i've been using it, and that is very exciting to me. it is also true that it is not perfect and games with anti-cheat snake oil do not make up 10% of all windows-only steam games.
