Hello, Fediverse š

Welcome Sophie š
Please feel free to ask if you want help using this place, and there's also lots of help for new people on the website at https://fedi.tips š
@FediTips @grb090423 Thank you so much! I'll definitely have a look through the site. Still finding my feet so that's really appreciated.

@sophiekaz Welcome we are excited to have you. Your expertise will be in valuable here. Please don't be afraid to ask for help. Even if its with things like how to mute bad apples. ;-) you have a lot of control of you're own environment here.
@gabrielmarkley Thank you! Good to know about the muting. Having actual control over your own space is such a refreshing change. Already feels very different from where I've come from.

@ErisSire Hello š
-
I love it here. You will too.
@jawarajabbi thank you! It's been such a wonderful experience so far :)
-
@eoinho Thank you! I see the structure underneath things and shape it. Sometimes it's sitting at a piano and finding the shape of a feeling. Sometimes that's helping small businesses find order in their chaos.
What's yours?
Making tech work for humans, instead of the humans conforming to the tech way.

@sophiekaz Hi Sophie, welcome! It would be great to connect cc @newsmast

Hello, Fediverse š
I'm Sophie. I run a digital ops consultancy from the south of France, working with purpose-led businesses.
I'm in the process of leaving Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn. I got tired of building on platforms that sell our data, gut safety systems to please politicians, and treat people as products.
Still figuring it all out. Would love to connect.

@thierrya I was following along perfectly until it cut off. Now I'll never know the most important rule. I'm going to get banned within the week, aren't I?
@sophiekaz
Don't worry: there's a tolerance for newcomers during their 42 firsts years in the fediverse. -
@sophiekaz welcome sibling!

@sophiekaz welcome! Many of us feel the same need of having digital freedom.
@Dan_EP Thank you! Digital freedom is a good way to put it. Glad to be in good company.

Making tech work for humans, instead of the humans conforming to the tech way.
@eoinho That's a great superpower. And honestly, that's exactly why I'm here instead of Instagram. Tech should work for people, not the other way round.

@mycotropic I don't have any clients in this area. However, I've visited both BƩziers and Carcassonne. The Cathar history is incredible. A Toulouse to BƩziers bike route would be amazing. You'd ride right through the middle of it all.
I might have to visit the abbey of Fontfroide so that I can give Arnaud Amaury's ghost a good talking to as well!
-
@sophiekaz kia ora! Subjects close to my heart - keen to know more :)
@aimee Kia ora! Glad it resonated. I'm writing up the full story of why I left and what platforms I chose instead. Happy to share once it's ready!

@mycotropic Fontfroide is stunning though, even setting the ghosts aside. It's only about 15km from Narbonne, so it would fit perfectly on a Toulouse to BƩziers route.
