May I tap into Mastodon's hive mind?

@eyeling Any interest in picking up an instrument? Could be fun to dive into ukelele or learn to play trumpet. Could be a neat way to get her connected to other folks once she's off the couch.
@I_am_a_plant
I was about to make the exact same suggestion with the exact same rationale.

@eyeling@afranke @I_am_a_plant That mental image. Thank you XD
But no. Not an option. So much not an option. I did mention "bloodshed" earlier. -

A dear person in our circle had a complicated meniscus surgery. She's very extroverted and doesn't deal well with being sofa-bound, barred from all pasttimes she loves (her beauty business, cooking).
Do you folks have recommendations for activities in coming weeks/months, when she's faced with a lot of alone time? Otherwise there might be bloodshed in the family.(P.S.: Reading and crafts probably aren't her thing. Though we will suggest it).
@eyeling Family/local friends visiting her for video or boardgame evenings to make up for daytime alone-ness? You might be doing that already...
...Now if she were interested in table top RPGs, particularly being GM, that would have great potential. Prep would fill some of the alone-time, and then there'd be the social aspect of actual game night/afternoon/whatever...Otherwise seconding looking for Twitch channels that interest her.

@eyeling sorry for your friend, that sounds tough.
Would she like to use her hands instead: polyhedral origami are fun challenges (and provide great conversations topics), nature drawing is also a nice hobby to catch especially when one is stuck at a fixed point (because it is not about beauty or art but about noticing metadata over time so it can be about documenting the sky or a specific tree) and if she is crafty crochet is quite hyping at the moment (great for crafting accessories)

@Maker Sounds heavenly to me. However, I don't think it's her thing. We'll recommend it, though.

@commonflowergirl That's a good suggestion. It's interactive and involves direct contact to others fot the sake of it.
@eyeling Idk if there's a like, a beauty category? but there's a Cooking/Food category and I know of people who do like body painting streams. Or if Twitch isn't their cup of tea, there's plenty of YouTube livestreamers. I personally just have experience with Twitch!
