@cwebber i thought so too, and was ready to dunk on Mastodon in my newsletter lol. but signed up with truth social to verify, and they've significantly revamped the UI around dms, so I think this was just Trump being stupid after all

@laurenshof @cwebber This is Soapbox which can be used as a client for Mastodon. It looks like a better interface but it still has the "everyone mentioned receives the message" broken stair. Even a bit worse because when you have an existing exchange with someone in "Messages" and you @ someone else, it looks like the other accounts are no longer mentioned (they are no longer colored links) but they in fact also receive the DM 🙃
