Non-violence does not mean non-action. It doesn't mean non-disruptive. It doesn't mean non-loud.
I have no stated opinion on whether an oppressed people should or should not use violence in their liberation.
But folks who seem to be telling you "non-violence" but aren't describing actual disruptive, loud, things you can be doing right now to protect yourself and your neighbours, then those folks are not your friends.

Slashing tires is Non-violent, if the vehicle isn't actively moving.
Cutting power to a datacenter is Non-violent.
"Accidentally" formatting your employer's hard-drives & backups is Non-violent. -

@quietmarc General strike is the greatest thing you can do and the most effective, and it's also 100% non-violent.

i'd add, valuing property over human life is extremely violent

@quietmarc this is also exactly the definition of nonviolence that the state wants us to have. There's plenty of nonviolent tactics that are very effective but we'll be too scared to do them if they're coded as violence
