Also don't raw dog Blender, use something like Auto Rig Pro, it'll save you soooo much time and effort
You do NOT have to make your own rig, and especially in Blender you really want a system there to ease some paint points
(but do try rigging too, I also really enjoy that, lets you invent whole new tools that then let you animate whole new classes of thing way more easily than anyone else can!)
It's weird how much I apparently love animating. Like. I'm so fucking glad I tried animating on my own for this game, cus it's gonna make the combat SO much better, and I'm just having so fucking much fun.
Especially if you're a combat designer on a tiny team? I really do think it's worth trying!
