I have planned my revenge. there is an incident in 2000 that did effectively end her status as an A-lister, she was fired from a show at a major opera house for failing to attend rehearsals. I'll sing something from that opera. Nobody sane would make the connection but she'll know I'm alluding to the incident that derailed her career. She will probably lose her shit lmao

Esperian is notable for being Pavarotti's favorite soprano and favorite co-star and reading interviews with her she talks about him like he was Jesus so it would also annoy the piss out of her if I did any of his more notable rep. (Hm might be time to give Parigi o cara another go.....)

not the tenor aria from Luisa Miller (the opera that's special to her cuz that's how she met ~Pavarotti~) but this aria is sung by the father of the character she played and the message is basically "don't tell people what to do let them do their own thing" so if I can just tighten my performance up a bit it's sure to be a winner for both sitting nicely in my tessitura and being Esperian rage bait

I read an interview with Esperian in which she says Tosca is her favorite character because Tosca is just like her. "I am Tosca!" she concludes. so after pissing her off by camping out on Luisa Miller, obviously next I have to do the aria of the character that tortures Tosca
