I call the tall grass here “cattails” but that’s not what they are.
I’ve visited this pond several times during this sojourn and the previous one, and never noticed the standpipe (visible at the left end of the pond, little dollop of snow on top) until I zoomed in on this poorly composed photo. Please enjoy.

The colors get pretty muted in winter here, and all the suburban homes are greige (grey/beige), so it feels pretty desolate. Still, Spouse alerted me to the existence of a third pond (visible here) and a fourth. I swear it's the first I've heard of them.
