I'm not against AI in browsers. But it is to be off by default and privacy protected. Sigh.

@ianbetteridge I know this was a rhetorical question but the answer is: because their VC-brained executives long ago abandoned the nonprofit's mission of stewarding the open web, and instead pivoted to trying to make "products" that will be beloved by advertising companies. (And utterly failed at that anyway, just a truly spectacular faceplant.)
