💸 Modern Life eMail Woes 💸
For those who may recall the past two-ish years of my experiences with IMAP/SMTP provider disasters, combined with months of crushing despair which only Mozilla's Thunderbird could offer.
Mail clients aside (long scope), I've been evaluating a business account with Fastmail using two of my domains — so far it's good, will need many more data points before moving the full set. Surprising benefit, the web client was able to migrate all of folders and messages from Runbox without any issues or surprises, same with CalDAV and CardDAV.

@winterschon I am still surprised that with the amount of homelab you have that self-hosting is out or scope; though yeah, smtp admin can be a lot of setup, when done it runs (have been self hosting for oh way too long ;) )

@jeroen well, the homelab stuff can break and burn to the ground and not completely wreck my daily life. Losing emails, or not being able to receive or send messages with some manner of SLA (where someone other than me is handling the SLO), then bad things happen... email is mostly annoying but still important.
