@aburka yes. They also have periodic medical checks, that get more common later in the season and people's health begins to decline in sometimes serious ways. So, they do have occasional human contact, but if they have to be treated for anything, they get pulled out for medical reasons. And, it seems to be pretty impersonal, and not a friendly visit...the contestants tend to dread the med checks because they're afraid they'll be pulled for losing too much weight or frostbite, etc.

Magari hai energia solare 24/7 ma quanta, e quanta te ne serve, e manutenzione, rinnovamento tecnologico continuo e non restare a strumenti vecchi di 10 anni...

@aburka they're alone until they call for extraction. And, the way they show it, the crew walks up with cameras rolling. Sometimes that's reasonable, but other times, the contestant is on the verge of death, and it feels...exploitative. I'm hoping there's medical care first that they don't show.
