@Gina God no. Those are generally known as "cardboard houses". Note how thin the walls are. Minimal insulation. Relatively cheap and fast to build though.
Northern Europe has real log (beam) houses, which are nothing like that cardboard house, although you think they look similar?
Plenty here in Lithuania waiting for someone to restore them. And some forest still standing here and there
One modern, cost-effective alternative are wood framed, straw bale filled houses, which offer good insulation.
@yngmar yeah but think of how hilarious it is when you one day decide to knock down a wall and you can just do it with.. your bare hands.
