TIL that the C64's GEOS has been fully reverse engineered. https://github.com/mist64/geos
Kind of waiting eagerly for somebody do to it also to the PC's version of GEOS, and perhaps particularly DR's PC implementation of GKS of it. In a better world, Digital Research would just have released its source code as a counter-Windows move way back when, but, well, we're living in the bad timeline.

One would expect that after all this time someone would have come up with a mechanical solution. I'm guessing as long as there's enough cheap workforce to exploit there's little push to come up with it.
