Anyway. I’m in the studio with the 22/25 year old babies. They want to know what #90s #rock #music sounded like. #Indie, metal, #industrial, all of it. I’ve been providing some key players, but I know you guys have deep cuts and b-sides you’re willing to share.
#90sMusic fedi, it’s your time to shine. Send me your favorite rock albums, singles, remixes, whatever.
@ErickaSimone I was listening to Pearl Jam's second album, Vs last week. So many hits on that one.
Purple by Stone Temple Pilots.
Nine Inch Nails, of course
Throwing Copper by Live had a lot of hits.

Sonic Youth got more boring as the decade progressed, but they started the 90s strong.

@ErickaSimone has anyone mentioned KMFDM and tracks like Ultra, or Juke-Joint Jezebel? I heard it on some soundtracks, maybe "Johnny Mnemonic", or "Mortal Kombat"? Also used for the previews by Manga Entertainment, but i have Nihil and Xtort and listend to them on repeat as a young man. :-)
Seems prescient now "white and trashy and incredibly dumb" sounds like current events

https://youtu.be/z8wllSQF_gM?si=sjhjiIn4eN223Km7somehow the world could not handle dug pinnick, but live rock (a little prog, a little Hendrix, a little Beatles) doesn't get any better

@ErickaSimone Post and Homogenic from Björk. Maxinquaye from Tricky.
@thatsten @ErickaSimone yes to Björk, the tastes were different where that music could be a hit, i am not in the industry but it seems like there a lot fewer ways for an act to promote themselves, that results in mass distribution, there is YouTube and Spotify, but what new music people stumble across is driven by the platform and what they choose to promote through their algo, and i feel there isnt as *many* platforms where something can become popular.
