Does the #Bluesky bridge thing use some kind of odd `content-type` when requesting profile data?

  • Does the #Bluesky bridge thing use some kind of odd content-type when requesting profile data? I'm seeing these errors in my logs when my server tries to retrieve posts (as part of my reply retrieval functions):

[2025-12-09T00:59:33Z ERROR enigmatick::retriever] Failed to fetch object from remote. URL: https://bsky.brid.gy/convert/ap/at://did:plc:oofa3qqoiszsmajbigfqskqv/app.bsky.feed.post/3m7egmddbwk2h, Status: 502 Bad Gateway, Body: <!doctype html>
        <html lang=en>
        <title>502 Bad Gateway</title>
        <h1>Bad Gateway</h1>
        <p>Couldn't fetch https://enigmatick.social/user/jdt as ActivityStreams 2: Couldn't decode as JSON</p>

If I'm reading that right, my retriever is failing because the bridge is trying to retrieve my profile and can't convert it to JSON. But I verified that my profile is provided as JSON for requests with these Accept header types:

    • application/json
    • application/activity+json
    • application/ld+json
    • application/ld+json; profile="https://www.w3.org/ns/activitystreams

...so I can't figure out what it's complaining about. I'll need to watch my varnish logs to see if I can capture one of the requests live from that perspective.

@jdt this seems like it could use a @snarfed.org tag :)

liaizon@social.wake.st I pinged him, he says he can't respond yet because of the aforementioned connection negotiation issue! 🙂

  • Good morning

This account is still alive. This morning I was thinking about my privacy. Many say that fediverse is more private. But they do not say that when post are send to servers, we do not know how each servers react.

For example this message publish 2025-12-09 will stay on different servers untilll .... I don't know. I will remove it from my server but some server keeps it 'for ever'. In 2028 maybe someone will see that message. But this account will not exists anymore.

Now I delete only message from my server. In the future I will delete my own post remotely. I don't know yet how but I will learn.

  • They might want to publish something that's clearer then, because it certainly sounded like they wanted to abandon ActivityPub. "MisskeyHQ (misskey.io) != Misskey" isn't particularly helpful.. lots of brand name confusion there.

  • @mayel @evana @scottjenson @mastodonmigration @stefan It would only make it a little more difficult. The 'brigading' is now a two-step process for every participant.

The vector is really the 'followers-only' option. If we want to keep it, no way around sending a mandatory copy to a designated 'brigading moderator'.

Release v2.4.14 of Ktistec is small in terms of features and fixes, but it improves in two areas where I thought Ktistec was weak: light/dark mode support and autosave.I'm not hardcore dark mode, but I do prefer it in some cases. Ktistec selects light or dark mode based on the browser or system setting—there is currently no means to select the mode directly. A nice side effect of light/dark mode support is that custom theming support comes nearly for free.Figure 1: Ktistec editor showing the Dracula themeKtistec was meant for writing. I post my fair share of one-line bits of wisdom, but I started building Ktistec because I wanted a space to write long form, and existing Fediverse platforms were more for social interaction. When writing long form, autosaving is an essential feature. Ktistec will now autosave draft posts and replies. If you navigate away before publishing, you can always find the incomplete draft in the Drafts collection which is accessible from your timeline page.AddedAdd design system page for previewing UI elements.Support custom themes with automatic light/dark mode switching.Add autosave functionality for new posts, draft posts, and replies.ChangedAdd external link indicators.#ktistec #fediverse #activitypub #crystallang

I think a lot about how we get more people like me (Gen Z, female, queer, into sports) on the Social Web.One of the things I have realised is that the perception of the Social Web to someone like me isn't all that positive. It doesn't have a good 'vibe'. In this blog post, I've explored the initial vibe of the Social Web to someone like me. I'd love if you checked it out.https://forbetter.ghost.io/whats-the-vibe-of-the-social-web/#SocialMedia #Blog #SocialWeb #Fediverse #Bluesky #Mastodon
