@valhalla i have this feeling that it's hard to escape the cosplay-vibes event horizon while wearing one but i guess that's not entirely disqualifying

@lontrachen and, I guess that's software developers fault, more than Apple. But, Apple doesn't have to make it so difficult and/or expensive to deal with the reality of modern software. RAM is expensive, but not that expensive.

@lontrachen I'm not interested in a laptop, I certainly won't use the Mac as a daily driver. Just need something to build and test my apps on. I guess I don't really need a ton of memory (or disk) for that. It's just that Apple building their low-cost devices for almost immediate obsolescence is just so infuriating. It's not repairable, not upgradable, and too small even today. You have to spend over $1000 to get 24GB which is...sufficient for light use, I guess? Software has gotten so huge.

When our vessels were seized, every flag they flew was violated. If states stay silent, they weaken the system that protects all civilian ships, humanitarian missions, and freedom of navigation worldwide.
Flags states now have a legal duty to act, demanding the return of their vessels and seeking restitution and accountability.
