The great enshittification continues. Google is about to force its AI onto mobile users of Google Maps.
While it may improve Google's AI usage stats, it's hard to see this not going horribly wrong.

@mos_8502 but, also, since I just ordered, it'll be months before I have one to test on. So, I can work on an REU dependent game over the holiday, but not one that depends on a super fast CPU.
I wonder if the MEGA65 C64 core can go fast? (I have one of those, but haven't done anything with it because the only way to do anything with it seems to be to follow their damned Discord, and I can't bring myself to do that.)

@mos_8502 then again, one of the things I want to make is turn-based and needs a lot of computation (a roguelike strategy). So, maybe if a player is patient, that'd still work on a TheC64 or VICE, but it'd work nicer on the Ultimate, due to less waiting betwen turns.

@mos_8502 taking advantage of that would make it exclusive to the C64 Ultimate, I think? VICE has settable CPU speed, but it can't go anywhere near that fast, even on my desktop, which I just recently put roughly the fastest desktop CPU available in (9950X3D). But, I guess if you're careful about how you handle timing, maybe you can make things work on both. I know most games choke or are unplayable on an accelerated C64 because they don't run at a human friendly speed.
