i don't get it.... if you want to strengthen Europes digital innovation bolden our FOSS developer communities, leave US-BigTech to the USA and build&support EU alternatives.

Some form of specialized AI can e.g. for climate projection or medical research, but not what the industry calls "AI" now (generative and llm stuff). And not clearly making the distinction just fuels the bubble.

Developing new models to be computed with American hardware instead of cutting-edge (and capabilities of scaling way beyond traditional silicon) European hardware could become counter-productive..
