    Launch of digitisation project marks 80th anniversary of start of legal effort to bring Nazi leaders to justice

    A fully digitised collection of the records of the Nuremberg trials is being launched online to mark the 80th anniversary of the start of the groundbreaking legal effort to bring Nazi leaders to justice.

    Open access to every official document from the trial, held by the Harvard law school library, will be available to all researchers, whether amateur or professional, for the first time from Thursday after a 25-year endeavour by a 30-strong team of historians, metadata curators and librarians.

    It began in 1998 with the removal of staples and paperclips from the delicate documents so they could be scanned."

She described the situation as ‘active with many different locations’ in the city…Throughout the day, around 50,000 people are expected to take to the streets in Giessen to protest against the #AfD (Alternative for Germany). Approximately 30 demonstrations, rallies, and vigils have been registered. Organizers include the German Trade Union Confederation (DGB), the Left Party, Attac, the Young Socialists (Jusos), and Grandmothers Against the Right.     Polizeipferde und Schlagstöcke gegen Antifaschist*innen in Nürnberg‚Nachdem die Antifaschistin Hanna S. vom Oberlandesgericht München zu fünf Jahren Haft verurteilt worden war, gab es tags darauf in verschiedenen Städten Proteste. Auch in Nürnberg versammelten sich an jenem 27. September nach Polizeiangaben 1200 Menschen zu einer Solidaritätskundgebung mit anschließender Demonstration. Die richtete sich zugleich gegen den Aufmarsch des rechtsextremen »Teams Menschenrechte«, das unter dem Motto »Gemeinsam für Deutschland« zur selben Zeit durch die Innenstadt zog.(…)Am Nachmittag kam es dann in der westlichen Innenstadt zu einer Blockade, bei der mehrere linke Demonstrant*innen von Pferden und Schlagstöcken der Staatsgewalt verletzt wurden.
