I am really enjoying #Hades2.

  • I am really enjoying . I am at the point where I can probably beat Chronos, and have gotten deep into at least a couple of characters' storylines.

And I'm thinking about quitting the game.

But since I know a lot of y'all are probably also playing the game, I'm going to post a thread with some frustrations and questions, with specific spoiler tags, and ask for help/guidance.

It seems like there was a discrete increase in power when weapon upgrades and arcana that ensure higher-level boons became available, but then it plateaued.

Now it seems like I have to grind runs (which take 20+ minutes each) for even the chance at a small upgrade.

    This feels bad.

Is there another tier of weapon upgrades? Are the other aspected weapons distinctly better than aspect of Melinoe?

I'm at the point where a lot of upgrades (like the ability to even *do* tool upgrades) are locked behind resources that *might* spawn very late in a run, like marble and adamant.

But I am not motivated to do this, since it means 20-30 minutes and then I *might* get *some* of the thing I need... or not.

I realize I can sacrifice story progress to make treats for familiars that will slightly increase resource acquisition, but... why?

I got pretty deep into the second phase or Chronos and have come a magic pixel away from beating Prometheus multiple times. The fights are fun, but it takes *so long* to get to them and then you only have one shot.

Also it feels like if you run into certain minibosses with certain weapons you're cooked.

Mostly it seems you just want a big nuke you can drop repeatedly.

Short of playing on easy mode, is there any way to make any of this feel better?

I know that even if I beat Chronos the game isn't over, and I've been spoiled that the final boss of the overword is Typhon, who I assume is another multi-phase nightmare with a half-hour runback.

If I beat Chronos and Prometheus, how close am I to actually finishing the story?

The game seems to be pushing really hard towards a romance with Moros. But I'm more interested in Nemesis and/or Odysseus.

Is the Moros thing... er, fated?

    Is there player choice here?

Is anyone else "romanceable" in the video game sense?

Do unlocking these plots require beating both endgame bosses? Additional plot beyond that?

Mostly I just feel like this game is wasting my time, stringing me along.

I get that this was a big game that took years to make etc. etc. but also, it's a $30 indie joint. It's not supposed to be 100 hours. I don't have time for that.

I could turn everything down to "easy" but I'm not sure that would help, just make the game less fun while still taking way too much time.

Thank you for your prompt feedback.

Based on replies, I appear to have gotten everything of value out of the game already and will be done with it.
