Agreed. This is a much more comfortable place to spend time.

I follow @ hn100@social.lansky.name, which posts any HN posts that make the top 100. That way, I see the often-interesting links without having to dive into the comments. There are similar bots with 50, 250 and 500 in their names for people who want a more, or less, exhaustive view.

In consequence, I force myself not to open it (I made one exception for the release of one of my software because I knew most comments would be technical questions)

On the other hands, I’ve the opposite experience with lobste.rs : I do really appreciate the comments there and the discussion that follow.
