@evan it's definitely been a while for me! In part due to the COVID disruptions for a while, in part just had busy busy times when I didn't have the energy to do more conferences.
Might pick up again soon. :)

@evan I'm not counting Wikimedia department or team meetings; I haven't been to a Wikimania or Wikimedia Hackathon in a while ;_;
Hoping to make this year's Hackathon in May though, and keeping an eye on some of the video-related conferences I used to hit more often.

AI slop isn't a new phenomenon, unfortunately...
After the conference, [Chip Morningstar] analyzed the leading names in postmodern literary theory and philosophy of the era to determine if there was anything of value hidden behind the dense verbiage, if the underlying concepts were "bogus", or if there was actually no intellectual content at all. Morningstar ultimately determined "there is indeed some content, much of it interesting", but he also wrote: "The language and idea space of the field have become so convoluted that they have confused even themselves."
