Sick and tired of my dog getting riled up when the doorbell rings and it turns out to be yet another salesperson who thought the "No soliciting" sign doesn't apply to them.

My physical therapist is truly excellent. She has a knack for healing the human body through touch. I walk into her office barely able to turn my head, and I walk out with full range of motion. And her oxalis plant was in flower today.

Doh I just raised a false alarm at work. Realized it and reversed it but feeling a bit embarrassed.

Most of the pollinators have moved on to the asters and they're covered in golden pollen. I would have thought goldenrod would be more golden, but there's something special about the aster pollen. #bee #honeybee #asters

I saw a jumping spider that was bigger than the ones I normally see. Zoomed in to the photo to see why: it was eating dinner, a fly. My poor husband, I showed him the photo and told him how cute jumping spiders are. He was like, ehrm. Spiders: they're not for everybody!#spider #InsectPredation

With our friends at the market yesterday, somehow we ended up going in together on a bushel of squash. I don't like squash. And now I have a butternut, an acorn, a spaghetti, and an I-don't-know what other kind of squash to use. #squash

The sun is shining and all the neighbors seemed smiley this morning when we walked the dog.

@dillyd A large green preying mantis landed on my right ankle while I was on a walk at the Buddhist BIPOC retreat in Guelph last weekend. It was a couple of inches long and the largest preying mantis I have ever seen. I got it onto a piece of wood and got an excellent look at its exquisitely beautiful eyes. We walked for a few steps before it seemed to be trying to get closer to a set of vines nearby by waving its arms in that direction. I let it climb onto the leaves and bid it goodbye.

And I would've been hit by a car if I hadn't been riding very cautiously. And yesterday, same thing but on foot. Two different drivers, always looking one direction for cars but never checking the other side for pedestrians and cyclists who have right of way. Both drivers sheepishly acknowledged they were in the wrong once they finally noticed me gesticulating wildly.

@dillyd The Terminator films never fully cover the early days of the rise of the machines. When the machines vented their frustrations via snarky autocorrects.

I used up my travel toothpaste, and I was thinking I should buy tooth powder for future travel, just to have one less "liquid" in my bag. Is there a simple one that's for daily use? I did a search and there are lots of fluoride-free stain-fighting versions. But I like fluoride in my toothpaste, thank you very much, and now I'm wondering if these stain-fighting ones are too abrasive for everyday use.#toothpaste #ToothPowder

@dillyd ours have a wall of columns and a spread out floor we can clamber across. (Our 'humans for scale' were teenagers twenty years ago in this pic!). On a good day look across the sea to Scotland. Steeped in myth and lore. Definitely worth a visit.
