#Introduction Hello to my friends old and new. -
Easily the brightest and most widespread aurora I've seen from the west Highlands of Scotland.@jbenjamint the fact I could see red and green colours with the naked eye in west Cornwall says a lot about how strong it was.

guys, what’s the coolest first name you’ve ever seen or heard in person?@astronomerritt oh they are. I do tend to peruse them for inspiration when I'm making up fantasy names.

guys, what’s the coolest first name you’ve ever seen or heard in person?@astronomerritt I don't, and sadly my FIL passed away two years ago not long after his sister so there isn't anyone left to ask.
I do like many of the Cornish names, like Kerenza, Elowen, Morwenna, Blejan.

guys, what’s the coolest first name you’ve ever seen or heard in person?@astronomerritt Sadly, I can't pull off the catsuit look like Diana Rigg could.

guys, what’s the coolest first name you’ve ever seen or heard in person?@astronomerritt I found my father-in-law had an aunt called Aviellria. I loved it so much that I gave it to my main character in my fantasy WIP.
Endeavour always makes me think of Inspector Morse. But I do like Verity as a name.
My sister was going to name her son Eben. But she abandoned it because everyone kept saying, 'What, you mean Ebenezer?' Some people associated it with Scrooge, but I could only think "E's are good E's are good. He's Ebenezer Good!'

guys, what’s the coolest first name you’ve ever seen or heard in person?@astronomerritt I'm still happy to discover The Avengers was being repeated when I was born so I am named after Emma Peel.

I feel like most writers I know end up cutting words from the draft when they edit.@astronomerritt depends on the draft and the scene content. I often focus on the dialogue and fill in the scene after.

This question has come at a good time because a lovely writer friend of mine is struggling to get back into writing after a long absence and mental health problems are heightening the issue.
I’ve given them suggestions to rekindle their writing practice. But if you have any suggestions, please share them.
