I keep making posts like this then realizing that for people not in the US, or those who don't follow politics in the US probably too much it must be very confusing.
Here is the context.
Candice Owens is a right wing "commentator" with ties to TPUSA (where Charlie Kirk, the guy who was murdered worked) but she is more famous for working with Ben Shapiro of the conservative "Daily Wire" Candice left the Daily Wire since she didn't agree with them about Israel.

I don't even like to talk about her because controversy is her O2. But at this point with all these presidents and so on addressing what's she's said I don't think that matters much.
Rumors that are beneath even denial.
To take the time to deny them gives them credit.
Can someone explain to me why multiple world leaders respond to the random things Candice Owens says on her strange little show?
Do they not understand that to engage with her is to raise her profile?
She's having a moment and becoming one of the most important voices in conservative media. Isn't America remarkable?
Is she the one who will inherit the ... role of Alex Jones. I didn't see that coming.

Starting today I'm going to become more aggressive about supporting independent media and journalism.
I'm not wealthy enough to make a big difference on my own but I think this is something that could have an impact if enough people with a little handful of disposable income and deep concerns about the state of journalism took on as a more serious value.

It is a real question. There isn't much a person can do if they are facing fabricated evidence from the government. We've seen this most often from individual police or police departments, and some people have been exonerated after evidence planting became too obvious. (caught on camera for example)
But what about planting digital evidence? That would be harder to contest. I think backup snapshots might be the only option.
Unrelated? (hopefully) I've been thinking about how with a system of back ups one could *prove* that a particular file was never on your phone or computer. Tricky problem!
Naturally I trust my "friends in the government" to puzzle it all out.
If I were an independent journalist I'd look into the podcasts and media produce by Kash Patel current FBI director prior to starting his job. I'm really curious how he handled information in the context of journalism. Did he ever issue corrections when proven wrong? What did he consider reliable sources.
There is some evidence that his information management has not changed despite a very different context and this is alarming.
Elon Musk doesn't really have an authentic national identity he is willing to embrace due to his racism.
To be South African? Awkward, complicated. One would need to recognize the past and help be a part of building a multi-ethnic future. To be American? He will always be an immigrant.
He's not "English" either.
Maybe that's why he's latched on to whiteness?
