@max@poliverso.orgIl fatto è che la democrazia funziona abbastanza bene fin che c'è benessere e prospettiva di benessere futuro.Questo perché essere democratici non e istintivo negli esseri umani: è una conquista della ragione che va coltivata con l'educazione.In tempi di crisi quando il governo democratico non riesce a garantire benessere e stabilità, si fa largo l'idea di cambiare: o attraverso il caos (mandiamo a casa i corrotti!) o attraverso l'istituzione di un dittatore.In ultima analisi entrambe le strade portano al dittatore, la prima fa solo un giro più lungo.In questa particolare occasione alcune potenze hanno anche colto l'occasione per approfittare della crisi e allargare un po' le crepe e finanziare movimenti e partiti populisti.Come conseguenza abbiamo avuto per esempio Trump, la Brexit eccetera...L'antidoto a questa rovina è studiare e insegnare ad esercitare il pensiero critico, ma naturalmente ci è stato ben spiegato che studiare è noioso.(Beninteso, penso che il posto dei corrotti sia a fare lavori utili per la società, tipo nettare i cessi pubblici a vita, ma non credo nelle scorciatoie apparentemente facili.)@andre123@snowfan.masto.host

@simona il fatto è che.. non è vero. L'Italia è un membro UE, meno importante della Germania e in parte della Francia ma ha il suo peso specifico non piccolo e col potere di votare a favore di sanzioni verso Israele. E il fatto che abbia mandato due fregate in acque internazionali -impedendo così l'arrivo di misteriosi droni che attaccano nottetempo-e poi si sia espressa a favore di alcune sanzioni (limitate, per carità) non è una gentile concessione della Meloni ma il risultato di una mobilitazione che -pur fra mille difficoltà ed errori- ha portato la Flotilla e quello succede a Gaza al centro del dibattito politico. Non ci fossero state le mobilitazioni sta sicura che avrebbero continuato a fare finta di nullaTroppo poco? Sicuro, soprattutto davanti a ciò che stiamo vedendo. È servito? Certo che sì.

@slothrop @eniko I think one big issue on Bluesky has been that company's refusal to deplatform Jesse Singal under pressure from its users. I don't think anyone should promise a more compliant management team on the Fediverse, since that team doesn't exist. If new arrivals understand how deplatforming works here, to the extent that it does, and they are ok with it, that's great.

@beemoh @selzero The Autocorrect. Moves like a pawn, except that instead of capturing a piece, it degrades it. So bishop to pawn, knight to bishop, rook to knight, queen to rook and king to queen. Pawns are turned into kings. The Autocorrect itself is then taken from the field.Reading this, you’d get a cross between chess and Uno 😄
