@codinghorror yeah, it really doesn't, starting from the “low overhead” claim from the use of “that private-financed private institution instead of those other costly state-financed but private institutions” to determine who gets paid, which is one if the key points.

@jfkimmes this does explain something: it seems to be able to invoke tools when it is planning, but then those tools do not get invoked in the final step.so it uses tools to read files when planning, then fails to use tools when executing.what a fascinating conundrum.

If you're making an evidentiary claim, surely you would need to cite it, even if the citation is a paper you wrote. Speech recognition, handwriting recognition, chess playing, various types of expert systems, route-finding, etc.But LLMs and other modern genAI does feel different to a lot of people. And it uses a lot more data and resources.

@eniko It depends on who you ask in the household. On most days, it's not terrible, and could be ready for most of our friends or family in about 20-40 minutes. For anyone else though, it would be closer to 2 or 3 hours.

@luana @eniko Even older dgpus. My old 1050ti dog walked near everything but current gen high end igpus, and those still get dog walked by both the 1060 6GB and the 1080. There are cards that IGPUs definitely killed, the display adapters with like 512mb of VRAM but those things are pretty much a product of a bygone era.
