@davidnjoku Much as it's fun to beat down on the super-rich, there's a huge flaw in that claim. In America and Britain at least, a huge number of both countries' libraries were originally started and funded by donations from Andrew Carnegie. He was very much an equivalent to today's tech billionaires -- he was the wealthiest man in the world, literally richer than Rockefeller -- but at the end of his life he used his money for good rather than evil.
@jwz@mastodon.social Source seems to be this WaPo article from last October, when Thiel gave a four-part lecture series about the Antichrist at SF's Commonwealth Club: https://archive.is/20251029084539/https://www.washingtonpost.com/technology/2025/10/10/peter-thiel-antichrist-lectures-leaked/

@artemis @afewbugs I've done a couple of faux pas here when interacting with some interesting profiles. Some of them have given me the possibility to clarify my intentions, and I'll be always grateful for that. The ones that have just gone and blocked me β¦ turns out they weren't particularly nice anyway.
@don is it possible too damp? Rooted cuttings are rather cranky about that and citrus in cold weather even more so. If you can keep it alive until spring, you can graft some scions onto a good root stock. You might have better luck after that.We were getting a ton of rain earlier this fall/winter and some of my yuzus were yellowing and dropping leaves so I moved them into the greenhouse (only watered once since then) and theyβre doing better.
