@Gina
If you are a guest at the hotel: utter rip-off.If it's just going there for breakfast, *and* it's a serious one (full buffet or brunch-style menu) then OK, expensive but I can see it.
@jannem realistically breakfast is the smallest meal of the day (at least for me), €28 for a coffee and some scrambled eggs.
-
@Gina This is the level of like paying 39€ for one day parking which I had to do today for work.
@luricaun oof

@Gina Again, if you're a guest that should come with the room, no charge. And it's a rip-off if they only serve drinks, toast and eggs.
But if what you pay for is a full breakfast buffet, it fair enough, whether you make use of the buffet or not.
With that said, we rarely eat hotel breakfasts when we travel these days. It's usually more fun to go to a cafe instead.

@Gina and I bet there's not an alternative breakfast cafe in walking distance...
-
@Gina Hotel with how many stars and what country? :D
-
@Gina that comes with a free overnight stay in one of the hotel rooms surely?!?!?!
-
@Gina Been there 😅
Once stayed at a hotel like this. Ended up ordering a burger and sides through Glovo instead.Had this quiet eye exchange with the concierge:
👀 “Smart move.”
👀 “Yeah, FU all.” -
Though it is absurdly expensive, I find 28 euros to be a somewhat better deal because it spares me the hassle of searching for restaurants or going to supermarkets—instead, just show up and eat.

@Gina Absolutely bonkers. I was in a hotel in Vienna that charged roughly that for dinner, which is more understandable if the hotel restaurant is solid.
But for breakfast? I better get biscuits, sausage, eggs, gravy, coffee, and some fruit on the side for anywhere near 28 euro.

@geospacedman there was! Had a pretty extensive breakfast for 14 euro.

@rusty1281 4 stars in Brussels. I dont care if it's 5 stars and the breakfast comes with edible gold leafs, it's the principle; I'm not paying close to 30 euros for a coffee and an egg 😂
