They've migrated to Linux (ZorinOS?), use LibreOffice, Nextcloud etc. #osclux

I did get a chance to listen to the excellent Omar Moshine, the Open Source Coordinator at the UN. 🔥 The UN strives to use open source solutions by default and does a lot of gov advocacy.

The EDIC is a collective of EU member states that work together on Digital Commons, like the #opensource workspace alternatives (MijnBureau, Opendesk, LaSuite) that we're all building. #osclux

Also, it seems to me like they have very little to do with open source stuff, and the three existing ones are focused on a) LLMs b) 'Digital Twins' and c) Crypto.
To be clear, it might be that I've misunderstood things, but that to me doesn't sound like something I'd want to advocate for joining, necessarily.

@pettter It started out as a network and just got established as an organisation. There's EDICs on all sorts of topics. This one is specifically for Open Source Digital Commons (such as workspace software, code platforms etc), any open source solutions that we can collaborate on at a European level.

@glassbottommeg I try to keep my options open when making technical decisions about my side projects, and so while I don't make choices that wall off console ports or put unnecessary obstacles in front of them, I've realized that any game projects I might pursue are going to be so long term it doesn't make sense to consider today's consoles as porting targets. Steam deck, Windows, and maybe Linux are the only platforms I'm planning on targeting right now for my current independent projects.

Ever since I got back from Zagreb, I've been swamped with a million things to do. Unfortunately, I had to handle some unexpected issues remotely while I was away, even during the conference.
Now that I'm back, I've had to pick up where I left off with everything. It will probably take me a few more days to get through it all, which is why I've been a little less active here.
My head is spinning with ideas and things I want to try. Plus, the presentations and conversations with other developers sparked some other interesting thoughts.
