I can say, however, that I've reunited with an "old friend" who is still in great shape.

Hot take: pf's built-in connection tracking beats fail2ban/sshguard hands down. One simple ruleset gives you automatic brute-force protection with ZERO userland daemons. No log parsing, no reaction delays, no additional attack surface.table <bruteforce> persistpass in proto tcp to port 22 flags S/SA (max-src-conn 5, max-src-conn-rate 3/30, overload <bruteforce> flush global)Kernel-level enforcement, instant blocking, survives reboots with persist. Why spawn Python processes when your firewall already knows?#bsd #freebsd #runbsd #firewall #pf #sysadmin

Just a few days ago a #multikernel architecture was proposed for #Linux kernel. Separate from that proposal from #MultikernelTechnologies, it turns out #Bytedance has been working on their own solution called #Parker. Today Bytedance lifted the lid on Parker as their solution for running multiple kernels simultaneously on the same hardware/system.It looks like several firms are now pursuing multi-kernel experiments for better dealing with today's high core count systems https://www.phoronix.com/news/Linux-Parker-Proposal
