Phone hack:
Instead of trading in and upgrading every year, use the same phone for a few years with a chunky protective case, then go case-less and use for another year or two. Feels like a brand new phone, and now you've had it for so long you'll be less worried about the little scuffs it gets with use.
Never experiencing your device without a case is a real shame. I have young kids, so I need a case. But I'm mentally and financially prepared to buy a new phone anytime between now and the and of 2027. So maybe I'll need to upgrade if I have an accident, but if not, I'll certainly be enjoying the freedom of holding a naked phone for a little while.

I've been using the Pixel 7 since launch and just threw away my case. Feels good 😊 -

I've been using the Pixel 7 since launch and just threw away my case. Feels good 😊@pfr I did this with a Samsung S9 i got in 2019 and upgraded to a S25 last year, 6 years later. It was nice using it without a case and worked out fine. It was the battery life and fact it couldn't get OS or security updates anymore that finally made me upgrade.

I immediately use a cover (because the only time I didn't use a cover, many years ago, it fell and a dent appeared). But from time to time I change the screen protector and cover and it feels like I have a new phone!

@oblomov Mah... forse 200 anni perché, come stiamo vedendo, nel corso della vita è possibile assistere a cambiamenti epocali i cui effetti però si estenderanno ben oltre la nostra esistenza.

Ci si farebbe l'abitudine? Ci si uscirebbe di testa? Ci si rassegnerebbe in qualche modo alla loro precarietà?
Ovviamente non possiamo dare una risposta se non immaginata, e non è nemmeno detto che la risposta sia la stessa per tutti.
E se ci fosse un procedimento che permetta di acquisire detta immortalità, lo proporremmo ai nostri legami affettivi? Li sottoporremmo al trattamento anche contro la loro volontà?

La vera domanda da porre è forse: ma l'immortale sei solo tu o anche gli altri? Perché ovviamente se lo sono anche gli altri (TUTTI gli altri) allora COL CAZZO (penso che tutti quanti possiamo pensare ad una manciata di persone che siamo tutti felici abbiano tirato le cuoia, o presto le tireranno, o non le tireranno mai abbastanza presto). Ma se l'immortale sei solo tu, si pone un altro problema, ovvero quello che tutti i tuoi legami affettivi saranno persone che prima o poi non ci saranno piú.
