@hipsterelectron people have widely variable reactions to it. the original oculus rift got me very close to vomiting when i tried it out at blender conference forever ago. a gamedev friend of mine while working on a vr title discovered he gets high from camera misbehavior instead of motion sick. my boss can't do vr at all, not even the fancy new ones

@hipsterelectron but, that's only a problem if your goal is to take over the world. theoretically there's no reason it couldn't be successful as a small industry catering to a dedicated enthusiast market

@aeva build tooling is fucked up and evil now :( i got really into it and made it state of the art and was crucified for my sins and now i'm in hell writing ring buffers that accidentally implement a bignum multiplication algorithm and i'm just thankful the fucking LEECHES aren't even capable of understanding how to monetize it. it's literally just "i made gasoline combustion 30x more efficient and the industry is now using 30x more gasoline"

@marcocappato politicamente è un segnale serio, militarmente è una barzelletta nel quadro di quel concorso di barzellette nazionali indicato col nome di esercito europeo. Ed è un segnale preoccupante che nessuno, nemmeno i radicali nonviolenti, stia pensando a forme di pressione politica come boicottaggi o azioni di intervento civile con una presenza internazionale non armata e nonviolenta, come forma di deterrenza e di moral suasion contro la paventata invasione della Groenlandia.

@shumann78 @steek_hutzee @attualita io resto dell’idea che è meglio evitare il paternalismo moralista verso chi esercita il diritto all’astensione e indirizzarlo verso una classe politica che ha abolito il voto di preferenza, cancellato il voto proporzionale, estromesso le minoranze, mutilato la rappresentanza parlamentare, concentrato il potere nelle segreterie dei partiti con leggi elettorali porcata bipartisan. Sono loro i padri e madri dell’astensionismo

I've never had much luck with the re-provided disk images. I couldn't get older ones to work in Hyper-V and the newer ones did but with silly default options.
I ended up just building my own with Poudriere (which is very easy). Deploying your second FreeBSD instance is much easier than the first!
