@darkwiiplayer thatd be great

@darkwiiplayer if not, there should be!

@nbwpuk I'd be up for writing one myself, but not being a lawyer, I have no clue how it would need to be phrased to be at least somewhat enforceable.

@darkwiiplayer Seems rather pointless because fascists don't respect consent. They just launder everything thru their slop extruder machines and strip the attribution and identifying information. The rest of us are left holding code we can't mix with existing code because of license incompatibility.

@demofox @darkwiiplayer Fascist don't understand that they are fascists is the problem.

@dalias the right is also very reliant on a facade of being the side of legality, as well as the myth of cultural and intellectual superiority.
Being able to point at them pirating anti-fascist software would out them as the cultural parasites they always accuse everyone else of being.

@mbr ...which is why you don't write "don't use if ur fascist" but describe clearly what kind of agenda you don't want the software to be used for.
Which is why I'm not just writing my own; because it's hard to phrase something like that in correct legalese and not accidentally put in any loopholes.

@darkwiiplayer No they absolutely are not. Fascists relish in flaunting that they can break the law with impunity. Pointing out their hypocrisy is puffing them up to their base.

@darkwiiplayer that's generally implemented in code. See also "Trusting Trust".

@darkwiiplayer @nbwpuk Sounds like a nightmare license in that all phrasings probably leave room for arbitrary shenanigans. I mean, even the g-truc βMIT happy bunnyβ license apparently turned potential users away and its modifications donβt actually prohibit any use.

@sndels I don't see much of a problem with ideologically unhinged users sorting themselves out, honestly.
Anyone who has a problem with "just don't use it to bring back the Reich" has no business using any code I write anyway.

@darkwiiplayer Iβm thinking more along the lines that a licensor could suddenly decide that using the Hungarian notation is basically establishing the Reich π What if itβs the licensor that loses grip and uses the license as a blunt instrument in unrelated issues?

@sndels anyone using software written by someone they have that little trust in is insane and should not be building anything others might ever use in the first place

@darkwiiplayer I guess itβs basically the normal trade-off between permissive licenses being permissive and strict ones scaring off (overtly?) careful users
