Do you care about Free software and mobile devices (particularly Android)?
Do you want to help drive and sustain the @fdroidorg project?
Why not volunteer to join the board of F-Droid for a couple of years, and make a personal difference!

Some reflections based on my own personal experiences as a current F-Droid board member:
* this is a nascent structure, without the formality / rigour of some boards. This includes scoping out what the board can, and should, do, to best serve the F-Droid community i.e. it is a work in progress, so expect rough edges.
* this is an opportunity to get stuck in, so a can-do attitude is essential. IMHO, there's little to be gained, on either side, just showing up to board meetings without anything else.
* if you have not worked on a board before, that's genuinely fine. I (and perhaps others; I can only offer for myself) will happily be a buddy / mentor, while you settle in, if you so wish.

@neil Didn't know you were on this board, Neil. May I say thank you for that work.

@withaveeay Thank you! I do a lot of FOSS-related stuff in addition to the stuff that I talk about :)

Personally, I am not really open to other board opportunities at the moment (unless someone makes me a very good offer!).
But I'm always interested to hear of FOSS/digital commons / other "good" board opportunities, as I'll happily boost for reach, try to suggest people to approach etc.

Most important of all: how long until F-Droid itself is effectively banned from most devices? -
