At the moment of her detention, Al-Yamani wore a white-and-blue striped shirt resembling Auschwitz prisoner uniforms, emblazoned with the messages: “Gaza = Auschwitz” and “Holocaust is repeating,” a stark statement highlighting that what is happening in Gaza is not just a war, but a renewed Holocaust.

@ro A me sembrava che in ogni discussione di questo tipo si continui a ignorare l'elefante nella stanza. Quando sono nata, sul pianeta c'erano poco più di tre miliardi di persone. In sessant'anni, quindi, il nostro carico sul pianeta è quasi triplicato. In queste condizioni, qualunque sia il modo in cui produci e trasporti energia, alimenti e ogni altro oggetto non può non avere un impatto devastante.

Good news and bad news.
The good news is that I am working on a very heartfelt keynote for Fediverse Day Berlin! I think it contextualizes why our work matters in a way that I think will resonate with people.
But the bad news is... I will not be there in person. :( I'm really sorry, some last minute things came up. I know a lot of people were hoping to see me.
I'll be participating remotely in a live Q&A. I know it's not the same though. I'm sorry again, wish I were there. 💜

@floreana post-edit comment: see, that's your problem, you should be using the US International layout with dead keys ;-)
(I joke, you should use whatever you feel most comfortable with, but US Intl has all accent and diacritics available via composition and dead keys. One layout to rule them all.)
If you have a Compose key enabled, compose e = should give you the € symbol. Otherwise, you'll need to enable the eurosign:e option for the keyboard layout (not sure how it's done via GUI)
