@jdelacueva @EUCommission In my opinion the problem here is that the fact that it requires you Play Integrity is not a mistake, it is something sought with a clear objective. A company that has an economic interest can be imposed with sanctions if you donโt do what you want or even veto it. If you force everyone to need to spend Play Integrity you are forcing them to rely on a phone manufacturer that has to conform to your regulations in order to sell. โฌ
@jdelacueva @EUCommission Considering the trend to impose age verification to access social media with the "Fake News" scum and the control of "hate speech" and the possible age verification imposition to use VPN, it makes sense that you are forced to pass the play integrity in more and more official applications in EU agencies and the countries that make it up. โฌ

@jdelacueva @EUCommission All this coupled with the efforts they are making to impose the Chat Control plus the dijital ID (which will surely be a Wallet that will have to pass Play Integrity) at the European level what I see is a totalitarian drift towards the end of Internet privacy throughout the EU

I am unable to install EU Login app in my phone because I use LineageOS and not the Google Spy Android.
Thus, I cannot use the double factor authentication, mandatory from the 25-02-2026 on unless I tell Google.
A frontal attack to our #privacy.
Stupid, no?
@jdelacueva Handing control of EU infrastructure to the USA for some reason. What a weird idea. -

@jdelacueva@mastodon.social entire thing about "EU sovereign tech" is to take US tech products and spray EU branding on top.
Im also talking about EU OS here lol

@greatlaketrout @IvanSanchez @jdelacueva @EUCommission The European Digital Identity Wallet app for Android will require Play Integrity as well.
https://github.com/eu-digital-identity-wallet/eudi-app-android-wallet-ui/issues/287
@fruitchypear @greatlaketrout @IvanSanchez @jdelacueva @EUCommission requiring drm for a digital identity wallet... yikes โ
โ
apps attesting the hardware and software they run on is fundamentally drm and is awful. it's also just completely backwards, apps shouldn't even have the capability to do that
the os should be attesting this, not the apps -

@GOKUSHRM @phil @jdelacueva @EUCommission
I do have Teams installed on a Lineage based thing. From Aurora. And recently it says it will not function without Play integration. It lets me log in, but it will not show anything really.From what I understand, Play issues certain certificates that non-Play markets dont.
@Scofisticated @phil @jdelacueva @EUCommission element, element x, jitsi meet are grt alternatives of MS team. All are open source apps. All available on F-Droid as well as on aurora

@GOKUSHRM @Scofisticated if the company you work for uses Microsoft or Google enterprise software, then employees don't get a choice.

Is there any public group taking care of #Eu #DigitalSovereignty (for what ever it means ?)
Is it part of #CRA requirements ?
I have similar concerns regarding #MsMonopoly on #SecureBoot for #x86 #Computers (#PCs and #Servers).
Are anti concurrency practices also a model threat to you ?
Lot of questions, few answers so far, only implementations with mixed feelings..
Inputs welcome anyway
@rzr @matv1 @jdelacueva @EUCommission the EU Login Mobile App should not require any Google services and it should be Open Source - the EU should start acting according to its own values and mission statement instead of preaching #digitalsovereignty but practising the contrary.

@URP74 @jdelacueva thanks to microg. Still connects to google ๐

I'm involved in some discussion in this matter. The short answer is that the app is not mandatory: one can use other factors. However, I only heard of few people that have figured out how to use the alternative factors.
Best,

@jdelacueva @EUCommission A couple of years ago, I complained to the portal's assistance service about this very issue, and this is the reply I got.
With SMS now not any more an option, we are really left only with FIDO2 keys.
It is unclear why they can't use established OTP standards compliant with many different platforms, and, if they really, *really* need to re-invent the wheel, why they must release their solution only through US-based platforms that come with debatable ToS.

@GOKUSHRM @guigsy Yeah, no choice for work.
I am looking at Graphine as an option. I saw it has Play in a container. I've trying to stick with non-andriod, linux options. But here are mobile connection shinanigans/ difficulties.
I def think those 3 are cooperating for an ecosystem more benificial to them.
