Can't deny the upfront cost, but easy repairs and a 5-year warranty is all about taking a different, more long term approach.
(My first #Fairphone ran as my only smartphone for almost 9 years until the 3G network was axed. Only cost along the way was a spare battery for €20.)

@brainsuxx666 @Tutanota the French and UK phones seem interesting but part of the need is 2x SIM + miniSD card. Low cost Chinese phones can manage this. Android free would assist the choice too due to #googleshenangins and Android #enshitification

@Tutanota the comment that any Android phone can be converted using /e is a lie. There are a huge number of pretty good phones with no such image available. My BOLD N4 is one example. $250 USD with features commonly found only on $1000 USD android phones. We need Android phones that gain the economy of scale to offer that kind of value. (I would be willing to pay twice as much for the same phone if it came with Linux.)

Commenting on social medias is nice.

But over the years, I noticed that whenever you write to a journalist, they very often reply. They do read their emails and they notice.

When you read a piece about leaving big tech, you have someone interested in the topic. It is someone to write to about the Fediverse. This journalist will then look it up and it might come up in a next piece.

It just made it sound so ominous... as soon as someone writes "conspiracy theorists" whatever follows loses all credibility in my eyes. Especially if it's not backed by actual claims - who are the conspiracy theorists? Links? I find the article - in this section - poorly written
