@blogdiva to be pedantic, I think that the hourly wage would have been lower, since at the time A Christmas Carol was published working days were significantly longer (I'm not sure about clerks, but industrial workers had 60 to 96 hours weeks, rather than the 40 hours week used in the calculation).
still the yearly wage should compare correctly, I think

@andre123 non so, non ho letto l'articolo ma in alcuni casi va considerato, al posto dei partiti, il ruolo di media e social, e quelli che possono essere cospicui interventi di sponsor multimiliardari (lobbying, investimenti)
Le strutture perenni non servono più, anzi, possono essere un ostacolo
Quindi sì, sicuramente c'è differenza, ma le scelte politiche ci sono (vedi non solo maga, ma anche tutto il discorso antimigranti in Europa)
