oooooh! pinging @iFixit and the @sewing #knitting #carpentry #BikeTooter communities. i can see repair worskshops, not just for electronics but for clothes, toys, furniture, bicycles. i can see myself in a Ms. Santa hat, mending jeans with my funky patches. the last day, we call it #Fixmas and celebrate a work well done with milk (in our caffetinis) and cookies.

I don't know where you live, but here in Britain we have a relatively new phenomenon called a 'Repair Cafe' where capable, talented volunteers try to fix whatever - electrical, electronic, textile, mechanical, etc... is brought to them. I do a bit of woodwork, and have recently repaired a high chair and a guitar (which gave ME a thrill to fix) which had a broken neck.
