  • I’ve uploaded to pixelfed – a photo of the brocolli soup I made for dinner. Mom had made cauliflower and roti for dinner along. Loved it all! I also uploaded to my Peertube – my first video on there yay! I had to shorten the version and do Part one and two and get the 1080p to 480p so it went up fast there. I assume – there is no app through which I could upload through directly over there – has to be from browser and so on I have experienced.

Today the things that wondered me was Michel Valdrighi whose forked project became WordPress. Hello called it b2/cafelog and reading about it all and how Matt and a Mike from UK connected via the blog – and started it as a project. I also read the blog where Matt discusses about the same in start of the 2000s and I was like – oh my god! The idea sprouted there as it was GPL and could be forked there. I’ve been taking interest in internet history a lot this year – and such dives by fellow bloggers are quenching my thirst further on.

Have you heard of that Ethiopian volcano erupting after Holocene era? The ashes came over my country India and many flights in capital were cancelled. I am in Central India so – nothing happening here as much. But the eruption threw the ashes and sprinkled over another continent. Fhew!

  • pfefferle@mastodon.social absolutely love the idea of doing office hours. NodeBB should do that too!

If I don't use WordPress can I come just to heckle you two 😂

  • ex_06@puntarella.party true, both Bonfire and NodeBB have indeed received TechCrunch coverage, but ironically it was because mayel@sunbeam.city and I did our own "launch day"-style media posts.

So dansup@mastodon.social isn't wrong, you have to tell people about what you're doing.. it's how much that's really up for debate here.

And so mayel@sunbeam.city and I find it a bit more exhausting to do marketing... perhaps we'll find a way to make it easier 🙂

    Btw opening https://techcrunch.com/tag/fediverse/

There are also bonfire and nodebb lol

Also the "being loud" strategy can quickly become that now other people have to get even louder... For sure the fedi needs more networking and building in public is cool, but the premise of the post is kinda false, you are not invisible any more than loop and pixelfed are. When I ask people out of the bubble they don't know absolutely anything about this world. Even to questions like "have you ever heard about "bluesky" as an alternative to twitter", while they may even be on twitter lol

@Helge I suppose it's my own stupid fault for trying to actually follow the spec, rather than just pointing to it as an excuse for any interoperability problems. ;)

Summer/Autumn 2025: Little coding, but lots of socializing and planningAt the first October weekend I (@linos) was attending the Berlin FediDay 2025. It was a meetup of the Berlin and German community, developers of Fediverse applications, and representatives of German speaking media institutions. It was great to see old friends again and meet some online contacts for the first time. We were discussing the future and the role of the Fediverse, which was super motivating. #FediDayTwo weeks later, I travelled to Sofia, Bulgaria, to attend this year’s OpenFest, give a talk and lead a workshop on how the Fediverse can help announce and discover events. Unfortunately, the talk didn’t attract much attention, as LLMs are currently drawing more of an audience. But the discussions with those in attendance were very interesting. The workshop was mainly about trying out #Gancio, #WordPress and #Mastodon and learning about the possibilities for local communities by trying out the applications themselves. I simply provided real test instances, created a list of tasks, including minor pitfalls, and, of course, answered all the questions that came up – and there were quite a few! And a big thank you to the crew and the organizing team, who were so friendly and simply wonderful throughout. #OpenFestYesterday, I had an awesome online meeting with the incredibly cool folks behind LAUTI, a free and open-source software for hosting small event calendars. #LAUTI is aimed at small and medium-sized communities and has a big focus on social, cultural and activist stuff. The instance for the Stuttgart area, run by the collective that develops it (@klasse_methode@chaos.social), can be found at https://einftopf.info. The developers are in the process of exploring the potential of #ActivityPub and the #Fediverse. I’m very excited and think this could be really great! In case you’ve been wondering: I see LAUTI kind of in between #Mobilizon and #Gancio. In my opinion, it would not be a competitor to them, but it could be a great addition to the Fediverse by filling this gap.I will be at the #SFSCON in Bolzano, Italy, in two weeks. There will be a whole afternoon focusing on the Fediverse! So in case you’re there you’re invited to join my short talk about Interoperability of Events in the Fediverse: status quo and vision. Or you’re welcome any time to say hello and let’s have a chat. After that, it’s time to sit down and get back to programming. But it’s very important to me to continually evaluate and understand what the priorities are, and to remind myself why it’s so important that we all continue our work in this area.#ActivityPub #FediDay #Fediverse #Gancio #Lauti #Mastodon #Mobilizon #OpenFest #SFSCON #WordPress

@timbray Not yet, that is on our roadmap! We do have Data Export support already!I'd like to support full account migration (with videos, comments where supported) so users can jump between servers easily, but I do have more important priorities, like shipping a new Loops app build/release that supports servers other than loops.video.

@julian@activitypub.space It seems that NodeBB doesn't support the Mastodon API for polls. Since ActivityPub doesn't seem to support Poll natively, there needs to be an ActivityPub standard for poll voting. Otherwise, I suggest adopting the Mastodon API to improve compatibility with posts containing polls.
