I have a problem, our fireplace appears to be very slowly sinking away from the house. At the base of the fireplace everything lines up but at six feet the bricks have moved away from the house by around an inch. This has taken over twenty years but I'm concerned that I'm noticing it more so it may be moving faster. We don't use the fireplace for fire, I've sealed off the chimney and we have an electric heater in there for when it gets cold so it's not a fire hazard. My question to you folks is; who do I call? If the base of the brickwork is sinking then who and how can it be returned to being upright?Any ideas? Thanks!#HomeRepair #Construction #Repair

dear #woodworking #making #repair #crafts #weaving bubble, i am absolutely stumped. i saw photos of this easy chair’s woven back rest, and my mind is just completely blanking on how this works.there’s a wooden frame, it is visibly spiral-wrapped in cane (or rattan or whatever), and the strands only travel between opposing sides in the front. there doesn’t seem to be room for any of the strands to make an about-face so it can travel back to the other side in front. if they keep their twisting direction, they’d have to travel on the back side of the frame, which they evidently don’t.any ideas anyone? (if you can boost or ping someone in the know, i’d be most grateful because i’m set to lose sleep over this)photos of chair’s back rest from front and back attached.

Second ever whip stitch repair in my life isn't so bad. Clearly not seamstress-perfect, but I'm relatively pleased. #VisibleRepair #repair #sewing

Grmpf, not the best day. Excavator was in the way of something else, so I drove it out, decided to do some quick jobs to charge the battery up and then parked it outside the barn. Upon turning the key again, nothing at all, not even the solenoid clicking.Keyswitch ok, battery ok, so I had to trace wires (no diagram, although it's not complicated) until finding the culprit: A failed crimp on a ring terminal where the instrument wiring connects to the starter/battery plus.Easy fix, put everything back together, two hours down the drain. šŸ˜®ā€šŸ’Ø #Excavator #MiniExcavator #Repair #DIY #Homestead #Electrical #Troubleshooting
