So, #motorola it is:
-

@sturmsucht thank you for sharing this Chris! I had been wondering who their secret partner was. Although a little bit disappointed it's an American company that has been sold to a Chinese company (Lenovo) - I just checked 😐
looking forward to the day they have a Canadian or European partner

@sturmsucht Hier die Hintergründe:

@_elena I really wish one day we have the Fairphone running GrapheneOS.

@_elena @sturmsucht maybe you should read all the reactions of the official graphenos account here on Mastodon about other companies and FOSS projects. I do not think they want a European partner at all 😬😅

Proof?
Or are you just referring to the regular "my os is better than your os" flamewar?
That has nothing to do with them avoiding EU partners. Don't spread false news.
-

#eOS and #Murena are a good start for #deGoogled #Fairphone

@michaelmarek @_elena yes, and less safe than GrapheneOS. Still a good start if you have a by GrapheneOS unsupported devices. iodeOS is also a good alternative and a bit better in degoogling. But let's not start this flamewar

@sturmsucht @_elena Proof? Read their reactions on Mastodon. For example https://grapheneos.social/@GrapheneOS/116149770473102451
This had nothing todo with a kind of war, but it has todo with respect for other FOSS projects. The way they communicate can be called very strange.

Still no proof of GrapheneOS avoiding EU vendors.
Fairphone does a remarkable job when it comes to being repairable and fair trade. But not so much with security (e.g. fast patch delivery or just by enabling kernel build-in security features).
Every discussion about GrapheneOS is heated to the point of death threads. They talk shit, the others talk shit.
I also wish they would respect each other, but that is not a proof that GrapheneOS avoids EU vendors.

@sturmsucht @richarddebruin sorry I’m not getting involved in the discussion giving how defensive / aggressive each project can get*.
My stance (via this GIF). I will happily continue using GrapheneOS on my Pixel 9 for now 🙈
Edit: I already got in trouble once attempting to defend GrapheneOS and their social media manager thought I was “spreading misinformation” about them!!! So I won’t ever say anything public about them anymore, just use the OS

@_elena @sturmsucht and I also happily using it on my Pixel 8 pro 🤗. I only mention that way they communicate here on Mastodon is strange. Have a nice day everyone 🌞

@richarddebruin @sturmsucht great to hear that.
And I concur, it's a fantastic OS... with (sadly) a very litigious / mercurial social media team 🥲 🙊
have a great day Richard & Chris!
